I for one thought this was a phenomenal sequel to an equally phenomenal game. I remember playing the original Sanguine and loving the proverbial shit out of it! Funnily enough, I couldn't remember what it was actually CALLED until seeing this sequel!

I thought that the music and sound design in general was excellent. It felt like I was actually playing a legit retro platformer. A hybrid between Castlevania and some other platformer except one with an overworld map. Not Mario 3. But something! Actraiser? I don't think it was on the NES but it reminds me of Actraiser and that's always a good thing!

It's got a decent challenge with a reasonable difficulty curve that gives you time to learn what different things do. How to navigate, what pick-ups do what, how to find secrets, etc. All in all, I felt it was very fair and a good experience.

That being said, I do have one major gripe with the game and that's the controls. They're mapped in a perfectly reasonable way, that isn't the issue. The issue is that they're very 'loose' and floaty. Jumping puzzles are always difficult (for me anyways) and they aren't helped by slippery ground and ultra-floaty jumps. The intro level alone killed me several times due to the ludicrously narrow margin for error and the controls during the cave section. I'd be fine with everything if not for that!

It's a solid game that's a total blast to play, but it really oughta control a bit tighter ya know? I give it 3.5 out of 5 for now, but it can be easily improved to a 4 or a 5 with some tweaking of the controls. I'm glad to see one of my favourite flash games getting a sequel if nothing else! Keep up the good work.

Rambo Platypus, out.

I've officially achieved audiogasm. I applaud you, sir!

TSRBand responds:

Haha thanks, happy you liked it!

I want to say I was surprised, but when it comes to you great music is never surprising! I definitely enjoyed this track. The title was remarkably fitting all things considered. The whole way through I was picturing an intense war march across a snow-swept plain. Two armies ready to clash in the final battle!

Oh man, I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Shoulda packed a coat.

My only real complaint with it is that, as mentioned in the tags, it was a bit repetitive which typically - at least in my eyes - is something better suited for looping tracks. However, this is a minor thing because the fadeout and fadein times for the song are pretty short and it doesn't detract from the song's quality even a little bit.

4.5 stars from this Platypus, and I cannot wait to hear the glorious tunes you produce in the future! Mad respect.

tourmi responds:

Thank you for your review and your compliments! I didn't have much inspiration when creating this, which is why it ended up being so repetitive. I found a way to break my computer's AUX plug so I can't really change it as of right now or work on newer songs :/

Again, thanks for your review!

That is definitely a Dragon Quest theme! You definitely nailed the vibe there. I can see the slimes drawing near already and it is absolutely beautiful.

There's something inherently magical about the classic Dragon Quest games, I must say. If ever there were a song that recaptured that magic it would be this. Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind using this. My only complaint is that it's listed as a loop but, you know, it doesn't loop. That's a bit strange to me.

Other than that little thing though it's a phenomenal song and you deserve serious props for it! Just fix up the looping and SHAZAM! it's five stars from this guy.

KaiserBeats responds:

Yea, If you want to use this song, ill fix the loop for ya :D

I am a simple lady. I see the Shadman, I rate five stars. You are one helluva talented artist! Excellent job on the hips in particular.

I've always found that there is something inherently magical about a woman who could break me in half over her knee. It helps if they happen to be uber well drawn by one such as yourself!

This is great! I like it a lot! There's something oddly beautiful about a city in the night, isn't there? Phenomenal work on your digital artwork, sir. I look forward to seeing more of it in the future!

YakovlevArt responds:

I agree. I can never get enough. I'm sure there'll be more to come in the future :)

Massive otaku, kind of cancerous, makes sub-par music and loves tits. That's me right there for ya! Not really much else to say, is there?
